How to Fly a Flying Boat:
Introductory Flights - Fee is $75.00
Introductory flights include a basic overview of the aircraft and a 20 minute flight in the Flying Inflatable Boat. This gives you a chance to see if flying an Ultralight is for you. Because we can load the FIB onto our small jet ski type trailer and take it to a lake near you, or train over a body of water you always wanted to see. This gives us the option to launch at a public boat ramp or slide it into the water at a convenient location.
First Class Introductory Flight - Fee is $150.00 for full hour of Flight + Souvenirs
The First Class Introductory Flight includes a basic overview of the Flying Inflatable Boat, a full hour of flight time with in flight instruction, a 100% cotton T-Shirt with the Flying Boat Adventures logo, a video of your flight with in-flight audio, and a certificate that show you flew in the Flying Boat printed on high quality paper suitable for framing.
Basic Flight Training - Fee is $125.00 per hour
Basic Flight Training includes a thorough understanding of all FIB components, assembly of the wing, ground school where the student will learn the rules and regulations that all Ultralights must follow, theory of flight, basic weather identification and in-flight instruction.
A student will be required to log at least 10 hours of basic flight training before they can start to fly the FIB by themselves. This will be your goal.....to SOLO!
Once the required number of flight training hours are logged and
both the student & the instructor feel comfortable, the student
will take a verbal and written exam to show that they have the knowledge
and skills necessary to fly the FIB solo.
